Accepted means that the IRS has received your refund. Approved means that your return has been fully processed and is approved by the IRS. Once accepted, it can take anywhere from a few days to
3 weeks (21 days) to go from acceptance to approval, and this timeframe is
unrelated to how, where, or when you filed, nor is it connected to how quickly
you got your refund last year. If your refund is still processing, it has not
been approved.
The most accurate place to check your
status is the IRS's Where's My Refund? site. You should wait at least 24 hours after filing your return with TurboTax for the IRS's Where's My Refund to update and reflect the status of your return.
