I'm not sure that amending for $55 would result in additional tax on your return.  You may want to start the amendment process to add the form and see.  If you do owe additional tax, you should amend your tax return.  Otherwise, the IRS will send you a bill for the tax and interest if the tax is not paid by April 18th, 2017.  If no additional tax is owed, there is no reason to amend.

If your return has been submitted- please wait - if it's rejected for some reason, you can add your W-2 and re-send the return.

If your return has been submitted and accepted- you will have to amend; the return is mailed; takes about 16 weeks to process. Here are amending instructions.
