Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If you filed a return in March of 2020, you must be referring to a 2019 tax return. If the return was accepted by the IRS you can track it on the IRS refund site. The IRS recently improved the refund site so that you can see information for 2019 and/or 2020 returns, as well as information for 2021 returns.

Check your emails again if you still have them---or check your online account with TT to see if that tax return was really accepted. Maybe it was rejected.
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
If it turns out that your mom's tax return was rejected, then you could still file it by mail. You need to print it, have her sign and date it, and then mail the returns in separate envelopes to the IRS and the state.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
