If your import carried over the information from 2020, you will want to make sure you are listed as the primary taxpayer. Click on Edit next to your name and select Continue. Answer Do any of these apply to you? and Continue. After that, you can change to filing separately in the Were you Married? screen by answering No to Do you want to file this return together with your spouse?
If your spouse is the primary taxpayer on your imported return, you may be better off just starting with a fresh return for your married filing separately return.
