Sorry, the amend software will not do. Since the 2017 files were not accepted...you can't amend it..you need to print and file an original....not an amended tax return.
IF you can download and print your 2017 PDF tax file, you can just use that to file it now on paper..at the post office.
But if you need to make changes to it, you will need to use the full desktop software for 2017 to make changes to ti before printing and mail-filing it.

So a reminder to never just file and assume ir is done..always check the filing status a few days after you e-file it...even if you "Think" it was accepted..always re-check a few days later:
