Each state does calculations differently, some use the total federal income and then divide the state income to figure out the tax, others use the total federal income and then prorate the tax.
You can print the returns before you e-file so that you can review them before you actually send them.
Once you see if the figures make sense when comparing them to the federal return you should e-file.
