Total unemployment is taxable for federal in 2021. There is no partial exclusion like there was for 2020.
- Type unemployment in Search in the top right
- Select Jump to unemployment. You can upload or type in Form 1099-G.
Unemployment is not taxable to New Jersey. You only need to file a part-year South Carolina income tax return if you have no other NJ income except unemployment.
Report the NJ unemployment you received while living in SC on your part-year SC tax return.
