Get your taxes done using TurboTax

An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a six-digit number that prevents someone else from filing a tax return using your Social Security number. The IP PIN is known only to you and the IRS and helps us verify your identity when you file your electronic or paper tax return. Sometimes the IRS catches situations that the tax filer knows nothing about. I understand you have your pin number and it seems you are just asking why the questions were being asked after the PIN was entered. I don't think anyone can answer definitely because each situation is different in most cases. I do understand why you are asking and it is noted.
