A stimulus payment received in 2020 or in January of 2021 is only reported on a 2020 tax return.
The 3rd stimulus payment of $1,400 was sent in the March - May timeframe in 2021. You will be asked for this 3rd stimulus payment only when completing the 2021 federal tax return.
