Form 8283 is completed automatically by TurboTax if the value of the property you donate is more than $500.
Enter all of your charitable contributions and Form 8283 will be included in your tax return if required.
Follow these steps:
- Open (continue) your return in TurboTax.
- In the search box, search for donations and then select the "Jump to" link in the search results.
- Answer Yes to Did you make any donations to charity?
- Answer No to Do you have an account with ItsDeductible Online?
- On the next screen, answer Yes to enter your donations for 2021.
- Continue with the onscreen instructions.
Noncash charitable donations include items, such as: books, dishes given to Goodwill. Also such things as cars or art given to a church or charitable organization for their use or sale, and stock.
