For the "Online" software...if you have to use Deluxe or higher, due to the data in your tax file...you have to pay for the software no matter whether you e-file or mail-paper file. After paying for the software, the e-filing is free.
(Opinion: DO NOT use a Federal refund to pay for those software fees , that is, if you have a Federal refund.)
