If you entered alimony received in the federal section it will be reported on Sch 1 line 2a  which makes it's way to the form 1040 line 8 were it is taxed on the federal return.      Then on the CA form 540 it will be included in the federal AGI on line 13 so it gets taxed on the CA return.
