You do not have to file a Tennessee tax return. Tennessee never taxed wages. The state had a tax on interest and dividends called the Hall Tax which was repealed for tax periods that began on January 1, 2021, or later.
Go back to My Info.
- Select My Info in the left column
- On Personal info summary tap Edit on Other state income if you have Tennessee listed.
- On Did you make money in any other states? say No, even though you worked in TN. Tap Continue.
- Select State in the left column
- Tennessee should be gone. If not, use the trash can to delete TN.
