If your return is accepted by the IRS, you will have to file an amended return to add your second W-2. The federal amended tax return, Form 1040-X, for tax year 2021 is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/17/2022. Once it is available, please see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed for directions on how to amend your return.
Otherwise, if your return is rejected by the IRS, then you can add on your second W-2 and refile.
To enter your W-2 info, you can follow these steps in TurboTax:
- Open your tax return.
- Search for W-2 with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page.
- Select the Jump to W-2 link at the top of the search results.
- Click on Add a W-2.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add your second W-2.
