TIP: Do not bother calling TurboTax for customer support. They are utterly clueless. It took Maria over 20 minutes to "research" and arrive at the same support page we're on and had the audacity to mark the problem as resolved. She sent me a link to the IRS on how to adjust my tax withholding (?!?!?) and then another link to TurboTax on how to delete my state return and start over. (?!?!?!?!?) She then wanted me to wait an additional 72 hours to see if the problem gets fixed. She had no idea on when this problem would be fixed.
Anyways, no longer having any confidence in TurboTax to address the problem (and far past in a timely manner) I returned the opened software to Costco where I purchased it from and explained to them that the Hawaii state portion of the software was broken and I couldn't finish my taxes with it. They promptly refunded my purchase without hassle.
If you didn't purchase the CD software from Costco you can still get refunded through TurboTax through their Satisfaction Guaranteed (or Guaranteed Easy) policy but you have 60 days to do so from time of purchase so hurry before it's too late.
