I e-filed my federal return as married filing jointly. That return has been accepted. I would now like to e-file one state return as married filing separately. Help?
I downloaded TurboTax and followed the instructions for doing the MFJ and MFS, but when I open the file with MFS to file states it doesn't know the MFJ has been accepted and blocks me from e-filing my one state. According to Intuit, I should be able to do this, but I'm not finding any instructions on how. See: https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3182020-how-do-i-e-file-my-state-after-i-already-filed-my-federal
