Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Did you accidentally use online TurboTax instead of the CD/download you purchased at Sam's?   Your question is being posted from online Deluxe so I suspect you used the wrong software.  We see people sometimes who get confused and instead of using the CD/download they bought, they go online and use online TurboTax software and end up with extra fees because you cannot pay for online with that license code.  Did you already e-file the return?  

 

 

Or did you use the downloaded software but not understand that there would be a fee to e-file the state return?  You can avoid that state e-file fee if you print and mail the state.   And....if you then chose to have the $25 fee taken out of your federal refund....that meant you agreed to a $40 "refund processing fee" to have the fees taken out by a third party bank...oh dear.....

 

 

When you purchase Deluxe from a retailer like Sam's they sell it both with or without the state software so you have to watch what you are buying.   If you buy the one without state software it costs an extra $45 to add a state, then there is the $25 state e-file fee.....

 

Sounds like you tried talking to customer support and got someone unsympathetic----try calling in again ---maybe someone else in CS will give you a break.

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”
