Extensions do not give you extra time to pay your tax due. An extension only gives you extra time to file your tax documents. If you do not pay by the filing deadline you are late and pay penalties and/or interest. But....check to see if your state has delayed the filing deadline. The IRS has delayed the federal deadline to May 17, 2021 and some states have also decided to delay their deadlines.
