Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Saw a message that regarding the $10,200 Unemployment tax break that the IRS plans to automatically process the refunds so I completed my 2020 tax return, but I ran into a problem with Turbo Tax and would like to know how this would be resolved.
- I processed my 2020 return via Turbo Tax and e-filed both returns.
- Both Federal and State returns were scheduled to be paid via my checking account.
- For the State TT required a $25 processing fee.
- Due to an IRS hiccup with last years AGI both the Federal and State returns were rejected and returns needed to be filed by mail.
- I wrote out a hand written check for the Federal return and processed a FTB Web Pay for the State return.
- Since both returns are now being filed by mail, how do I get refunded the $25 e-file fee for the State since my credit card has already been charged?
- Also, since the $25 e-file fee was charged, will TT still process the amount due to the State or did the process cease since the returns were rejected?
