Yes. Switch the order of your names and e-file again. The IRS does not always do a good job of tracking the secondary filer. A surviving spouse often encounters this issue when he or she becomes the primary taxpayer after years of being the secondary filer.
Some couples like to rotate who is listed first and second on the tax return out of equality, however this may lead to problems with the IRS. There have been cases where the IRS has said the couple never filed because of a switch in the order of the names.
It’s best to choose one order and stick with it.
