Get your taxes done using TurboTax

It's simple. The number of digits in the Federal assigned PIN number is six. Last year your product required five digits. I no longer use your product because of this problem. I'm not sure if this year's product uses six or five, but last year I had to file paper because of your product using five digits. Not a good year to file paper. This year, the FEDS have assigned another six digit pin number.
Why it took a year to address this matter is another reason I no longer use your product.
The 5 digit taxpayer self-selected PIN was used to file the tax return along with the prior year AGI. It is used as the taxpayer's electronic signature on their Individual Income Tax Return only. However, taxpayers may also use it as a piece of authentication when signing the next year's tax return using electronic signature.
The 6 digit Identity Protection PIN is issued by the IRS each year in December or January for those who have reported being a victim of Identity Theft to the IRS.
TurboTax has always had the capability for a user of the software to enter their 6 digit IP PIN.
To enter a 6 digit IP PIN
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Other Tax Situations
Scroll down to Other Return Info
On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button
Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin
