My spouse is in the military and we currently live in different states. As of right now, we need to file for an extension and I'm wondering if we have to file 2 separate forms? Follow up question is, do we have to file an extension together for the state taxes as well?
This is my first time being married and filing jointly. Do we have to file separate state taxes and then file federal together? Any other advice would be extremely helpful!
