And you "get" a $500 credit for each parent you claim which lowers your own tax bill. You do not receive stimulus money for claiming them.
In order for you to claim them, they must meet the criteria to be claimed as your qualifying relatives. A part of that is that you must be able to say you paid for OVER half their support.
