The downloads are specific to either Windows or Mac--so no, his download will not work on your Mac. When you have computers that have disc drives (getting harder and harder to find....) then the CD can be installed to a disc drive in either a Windows or Mac computer .
You can try asking customer support for a download for Mac---not sure if they can help with that or not.
