If you filed separately then the spouse's name would be on the form 1040  above the taxpayer's name in the filing status section and NOT in the spouse or dependent section.    The program doesn't give you the option to add a spouse as a dependent and even tells you why not if you click on the info link.  So if the return is correct then you have nothing to amend for unless filing jointly is better for you both combined.
