What are you trying to do? Do NOT send in an amended return until your original tax return has been fully processed. If you try to amend and send in a 1040X before the original return has been processed, it will create confusion and delays. If you prepared a 1040X you do not go back and start messing with the original 1040. You should have saved that return as a pdf--and then do not mess with it. If you amended correctly, the 1040X will show any additional refund that you will be receiving---- or it is possible that you could owe when you send it in, depending on what you changed.
