If your daughter's income was reported on a 1099Misc then she is considered to be an independent contractor. She is is required to pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare, since those were not withheld from her pay, and possibly pay ordinary income tax depending on how much she was paid in all. She can complete a Schedule C to claim any expenses she had.
