Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Hi, I did it in that order. When I go to the Student Info Worksheet, for line 1 of Part IX ESA, it shows a zero for Total ESA distributions from Form 1099Q. And the top right part of the screen says that the field is a calculated field (not user entered). So, why, when I enter an ESA distribution in the 1099Q entry, does Turbotax Desktop show a calculated value of zero?
I know I have enough qualified expenses that I don't have to enter them (1099Q, 1098T) into TurboTax, but the engineer in me wants the program to handle the situation so that if I ever get to a point where I don't have enough qualified expenses, it handles the distributions accurately.
