You get the software for one specific state, and since you cannot e-file a state return unless the federal return has been e-filed, you cannot e-file more than five state returns. Again---more can be prepared and printed, signed, and mailed.
Be aware that although you have the software to prepare the MA returns--there is a fee to e-file state returns--they cost $24.99 each to e-file. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you just print and mail them.
