Get your taxes done using TurboTax

You may be able to check with your broker and see if the settings can be adjusted on their end to only allow certain documents to be imported. If not, in your case, you will need to make manual entries. TurboTax will import everything in a linked brokerage account. 

 

 Here's how to enter a 1099-DIV

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Search for 1099-DIV and select the Jump to link in your search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you receive any dividend income?
  4. Manually enter your 1099-DIV  by selecting I'll type it in myself.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your 1099-DIV.

Here's how to enter a 1099-B:

  1. Open (continue) your return if it isn't already open.
  2. In TurboTax, search for 1099-B and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2019? If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
  4. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
  5. At Let's get your tax info, choose the option to type it in yourself.
  6. Follow the instructions.
