FYI - I had to reinstall TurboTax Deluxe after it was continuously requiring me to download updates
FYI, after installing TurboTax Deluxe 2019 on my iMac (2019) running macOS Mojave, it prompted me to download over 200MB of updates. The updates appeared to be applied after they were downloaded, and I was able to start TurboTax to start my return. But after quitting and trying to startup TurboTax the next day, it prompted me again to down the updates. I thought that was strange, but I had no choice but to download the updates, after which it said I had to apply the updates and relaunch TurboTax. This time, nothing appeared to happen and when I tried to start TurboTax again, it had me download the 200MB of updates AGAIN. And then I entered this vicious cycle where the updates would not "take" and I was prompted again and again to download the updates. Ugh. I can only guess the TurboTax installation was corrupted somehow.
I found a forum posting that said that problems are sometimes cleared by completing uninstalling TurboTax, including having to manually remove files in ~/Library using the Finder. I followed the instructions at https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/remove-uninstall-turbotax-for-mac/00/26050.
After the tedious task of removing a bunch of files in ~/Library reloaded TurboTax, I reran the m_turbotax_1040d_ar_[phone number removed].dmg download, installed TurboTax, applied the updates, and I have been good to go ever since. I have been buying TurboTax since the 1990's and I have never had this problem before. I posted this in case this would be helpful to other TurboTax users.
Note: When I attempted to redownload the m_turbotax_1040d_ar_2019.010.0103.dmg download from InstallTurboTax.com with my license key, it would not allow me because it said the license was already associated with that computer. But shouldn't I be able to redownload the *.dmg file anyway since it will prompt me for that license key when I install TurboTax? Fortunately I still had the *.dmg file from the first download, but I was surprised that intuit would not allow me to redownload the *.dmg file in case I no longer had it. Is this normal?
