The 1040 is probably there as a part of your software..
BUT
it won't print out unless you've entered some taxable income. IF no income was entered, or of you only put in an SSA-1099 form, and nothing else as income, then there is no form 1040 in your printout, because one isn't needed and you don't have to file at all..
