Yes. He might have to file his own return for his income. Did he get a W2 or a 1099Misc? If he got a W2 and it is less than $6,300 he does not have to file a return except to get back any withholding taken out.
If a W2 is more than 6,300 he has to file a return or if he made more than $400 on a 1099Misc or cash self employment income he has to file a return.
