TurboTax does not file or mail your return for you. You have to e-file it yourself by going all the way to the end of the FILE section and clicking the big orange button that says "Transmit Return Now." Or you have to print it, sign it and mail it yourself. It is now too late to e-file a 2016 return. You will need to download the desktop software to complete and print your 2016 return, then mail it in.

When you mail your return, you need to attach documents that show tax withheld, such as your W-2's or 1099's. Use a mailing service that will track it --like UPS or certified mail-- so you will know the IRS received it.
