No, life insurance is not the same as long term care insurance. Life insurance premiums are not deductible. Long term care insurance is insurance you purchase to pay for care such as being in a nursing home, receiving adult day-care, in-home care assistance, etc. Long term care insurance premiums are deductible as medical expenses.
