Software to prepare 2018 returns will not be available until late November/December of 2018. So you cannot start on your 2018 return yet. Being in too big a hurry to file a 2018 return is not advisable. With all of the tax law changes and possible "bugs" with the IRS and the software, you should wait for the tax season to get underway in 2019. The iRS has not yet announced when they will begin accepting 2018 returns but it will probably not be until late in January or even sometime in February.
