If you have already filed your return, then you can amend it to add the sales tax deduction. But wait until the original return is fully processed. If
you had a refund/tax payment due wait until you receive the refund or the
payment is processed.
Regarding Sales Tax:
You have the option of claiming either general state/local sales
taxes or state/local income tax. In states that have a state
income tax, it is generally more advantages to take the income tax deduction.
You didn't indicate if you live in a state that does not have income tax. But if yours does, then TurboTax would have taken the state income tax deduction.
