You may wish to speak to someone by phone in realtime for assistance with this issue. You can speak to the free TurboTax Audit Support Center for help with an IRS letter. See the screen image I post below which shows their phone number. I can't post an image in a comment, but I can post it in an Answer. They are open now until 12 Midnight Eastern (9 PM Pacific).
