No, you could not. Given the circumstances, your child would be claimed as a Qualifying Relative dependent type and not a Qualifying Child. Such a dependent needs to live with you all year,with only specific exceptions, but the person claiming them has to also provide more than 1/2 the dependent's support for the year. Since he lived with you, you provided his housing, utilities, etc., so the other parent cannot claim him.
