There is no fee for Direct Deposit. The 39.99 Refund Processing Service charge (44.99 in California) is only to have the fees deducted from your refund. But you can only have the fees deducted by getting Direct Deposit.
So don’t know why it’s charging you that fee. If you want a mailed check you have to pay the fees with a credit card. You must not have removed it right.
