Did you receive and enter a Form 1099-MISC with income shown in box 7 of the form? If so, the IRS considers you self employed and the TurboTax program will recommend you use the Self-Employed edition.
If this not the case then you clear the return and start over, assuming that you are using the online editions.
If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on My Account at the top of the program screen while working on the 2016 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.
