I don’t have penalties or fees associated with this TurboTax failure. As is noted by many filers on both the Forums here, as well as the Daikin website, the problem is that during transmission of the return to the IRS, the QMID Code is apparently not being recognized properly, so it removes the allowed deduction on Form 5965, Line 29a. In my case that reduced my refund by the allowed amount…. $1800. I still received a refund, just reduced by that much…… that’s a pretty big deal.
