I noticed in your response you wrote: "If you bought a desktop software license (as opposed to an online license), did you download and install the software? Or do you have Windows 10 and can't fully install it? It you have Windows 10 and bought desktop software license, there is a way to move to Online Premium with your license for no additional charge for one Federal and state return and free efiling."
This happens to be my case. I thought my work laptop is up to date and compatible; turns out it is not. When I attempted to download, the pop-up stated that I have two options for tax year 2025: TurboTax Online - My purchase includes TurboTax Premium Online. Sign in and verify my desktop license code to continue OR TurboTax Desktop - basically update my computer.
I want to go with TurboTax Premium Online, which apparently is included. The issue is, I have no idea where I go to verify my desktop code once I sign on online.
