Yes Turbo Tax does it  right.  I made a spreadsheet to calculate the Senior Deduction and it matches the IRS and Turbo Tax.  If you have the Desktop program just switch to Forms and open the 1040 or 1040 SR and Schedule 1-A to check.  The Senior Deduction is on 1040 line 13b with any other Schedule 1-A deductions.  It is separate from your Standard Deduction on line 12e.
