Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Thanks for your response @SteamTrain. I should have stated the following in my original post:
From what I understand, Form 8283 is utilized for a more detailed breakout of donations to a single entity over $500. For example, I made 10 donations of goods to Goodwill for the 2025 reporting year. They totaled $2000, with no single donation being more than $500, standalone. In that case, Form 8283 needs to be completed because the total amount is over $2000 to Goodwill for the year. (I had the same set of circumstances in reporting year 2024, and TurboTax filled out Form 8283 for the similar donations that totaled over $500 to Goodwill).
This year, there is no auto-population of Form 8283 for me. And TurboTax said that my returns were complete and ready to file, so I filed, and then they all came back rejected due to the Form 8283. The Form is not being populated at all this year aside from my name and the charity name. And I don't know how to work around this. TurboTax is saying that the firm is already available. But for me, that is not what I'm seeing.
I just don't know why there is a different issue with TurboTax that I face every year. And the ability to get help from them for software that I paid for is getting worse. I should be able to reach out to a technical software line for this issue. I shouldn't be pushed to pay for tax advice, which is clearly not what is needed here.
Hopefully someone from the Intuit side can see this and let us know what is going on and what is being addressed to fix it. And what the timing is.
