Yes, you can transfer last year's Desktop X.tax file into this year's Online software.
Log into your Online TurboTax
- Hit Tax Home (Top Left)
- Select Personal Info, [Continue]
- A left sidebar will show up
- Select Tax Tools
- Then Tools
- There will be a popup in the center screen
- Select Transfer last year's TurboTax return from your computer
- Then follow the interview.
Yes, the Online and Desktop do function differently, but the input categories are essentially the same.
