Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Sorry for your loss. I lost my husband in 2023 too. Are you filing a 2024 return or how did you file 2024? You needed to set up a new account for yourself. If you need to file 2024 now you need to use the Desktop installed program. To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here,

You will need Windows 10 or Mac Ventura 13 to install it on.
You can file a Joint return as normal for 2023. For the next two years following a husband's or wife's death, the surviving spouse can file as a qualifying widow or widower if they have a qualifying child. That basically lets you continue to use the same tax brackets that apply to married-filing-jointly returns. After the year of death if you don't have a child you file as Single and have to start over with a new return and new account. And don't transfer from the Joint return.
