Get your taxes done using TurboTax

@Dukestake "They never filed my taxes"---   Paying your TurboTax fees does not file your tax return.   In order to e-file, you have to go through all of the steps in the FILE section and click a big orange button that says "Transmit my returns now."   If you did not do that, then your return was not filed.  TT does not click that button for you.  If you reached the point where you had paid your fees---which you say you did-- then you had a prepared return that could have been e-filed or could have been filed by mail.  (The fee is the same whether you e-file or file it by mailing it in an envelope. )  Once you have reached that point, TurboTax does not issue refunds to you.

What really happened?  Did you not go all the way through the FILE section, or was your e-file rejected?

DID YOU E-FILE?

Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.

Check your e-file status:

What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
