Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Go up to File - Open.  All your tax files should be listed.  You need to have the file ending in .tax2024 on your computer.  Are you on Windows or Mac?  Most of this is about Windows.  The tax file should be  in My Documents in the Turbo Tax folder or search your hard drive for all files ending in .tax.  You can double click on the .tax2024 file to open it.

If you don't have the main .tax file you might have one that starts with a Tilde sign ~ like "~your name.tax2024". That file is if your computer crashes or your real file gets lost or deleted or corrupt so you can restore it.

Have you been saving your return?  In Windows you have to manually save it.  It should ask you to save when  you file or exit.  Did you do more than 1 tax return?  Like for someone else?  Do any of the returns have the same name initial as you or your spouse?  Like if your son or daughter have the same first name as you.    There is a problem saving returns if 2 returns use the same initials, one will overwrite the other. So you have to be sure to save the returns with names completely different to keep them apart. Don't use the default name given by the program. Go up to File-Save As and give it a unique name.
