Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Are you just entering them into a tax return?  Are you using the What-If worksheet?  The What-If worksheet has been updated some of the new amounts.

On Aug 21, 2025 the What-If Worksheet was updated for new Standard Deduction amounts and the additional 6,000 for Senior Deduction. And maybe the SALT deduction increase.

For estimating……There are a few workarounds you can do. Like if you itemize deductions the SALT (State And Local Tax) max was 10,000 and now is 40,000. So you could enter the amount over 10,000 (up to 40) in another place like in Charity.

If you are 65 or older and qualify for the 6,000 senior deduction you could reduce some taxable income by 6,000 (12,000 married).

Go to Forms Mode, click Forms in the upper right or on the left for Mac. Then click Open Forms box in the top of the column on the left. Open the US listing of forms and towards the bottom find the What-if worksheet. It's right under Estimated Taxes.

Or try…Go into Forms View. Once there, at the top of the left column, click on the icon for "Open Form". A popup window will appear. In the text line, type the word "what" without quotes. You should see "what-if worksheet" appear as a selection choice. Double-click it to launch the form.

You need to click the box to use 2025 tax rates at the top of the column.
